Want to capture high-value corporate traffic? Learn the fastest way to submit your business website to Bing search and automate your sitemap indexing.

You just launched a new business website. You have successfully submitted it to Google Search Console, and you are starting to see traffic. Job done, right?

Not quite.

While Google is the dominant search engine, Microsoft Bing powers a significant portion of B2B, corporate, and desktop search traffic. If you do not actively tell Bing that your website exists, they may never find it.

Submitting your website to Bing takes exactly 5 minutes, costs zero rupees, and can open the door to high-value corporate leads. Here is the exact process to get your website indexed on Bing.

The Problem: Waiting for Crawlers

Search engines use "bots" or "crawlers" to navigate the internet by following links. If you just launch a website and do nothing, Bing's crawler (Bingbot) might eventually find it if another website links to you. But this could take months.

Instead of waiting, you should submit your XML Sitemap directly to Bing. A sitemap is a digital map of your website (usually found at yourdomain.in/sitemap.xml) that lists every page you want indexed.

Step 1: Log into Bing Webmaster Tools

  1. Go to bing.com/webmasters.
  2. Click Sign In.
  3. You can sign in using a Microsoft, Google, or Facebook account. (We recommend using the exact same Google account you used to set up Google Search Console—it makes the next step incredibly easy).

Step 2: The "One-Click Import" (The Easy Way)

Microsoft has made this process brilliantly simple. If your website is already verified in Google Search Console (GSC), you do not need to touch any code to verify it on Bing.

  1. Once logged in, you will see two options: "Import your sites from GSC" or "Add your site manually."
  2. Click Import.
  3. Bing will ask you to log into your Google account and grant permission to read your GSC data.
  4. Bing will automatically pull your domain, verify ownership, and import your existing sitemap.

You are done! Bing now knows exactly who you are and where your pages are.

Step 3: Manual Verification (If you don't use GSC)

If, for some reason, you do not have Google Search Console set up, you must verify the site manually.

  1. Type your domain URL into the manual entry box on Bing Webmaster Tools.
  2. Bing will give you a few options to prove you own the website. The most common are:
    • XML File Upload: Download a small file from Bing and upload it to the root folder of your web server.
    • HTML Meta Tag: Copy a small line of code and paste it into the <head> section of your website's code (in WordPress, you can often paste this into your SEO plugin).
    • DNS Record: Add a CNAME record to your domain registrar (like GoDaddy).
  3. Once verified, go to the "Sitemaps" tab on the left menu and paste the URL of your sitemap (e.g., https://yourbrand.in/sitemap.xml) and click Submit.

The Secret Weapon: IndexNow

Once you are set up, you should ask your developer to implement IndexNow.

Historically, you submit a sitemap and wait days for the search engine to read it. IndexNow is a protocol created by Microsoft that "pings" the search engine the exact second you publish or update a page.

If you publish a new blog post, IndexNow instantly tells Bing, and your new page can appear in search results within minutes, rather than days. (If you use WordPress or modern frameworks like Next.js, IndexNow integration is very straightforward).

What This Means for Your Business

SEO is about maximizing visibility across all relevant channels. Ignoring Bing means leaving money on the table, especially if your target audience uses Windows desktop computers in corporate offices. Submitting your site takes 5 minutes and acts as a permanent, free pipeline to Microsoft's audience.

Nutz ensures every custom website and application we deploy is fully integrated with Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and real-time indexing protocols like IndexNow.
